I’m Aniela Sârbu, psychotherapist and founder of Mindful Healing TC -
Where awareness, compassion, and transformation meet.
For over 20 years as a clinical psychologist and trauma-informed therapist, I’ve walked beside people on their healing journeys - helping them understand their inner world, process emotional pain, and build lives that feel safe, connected, and whole.
I’m originally from Romania and now based in Traverse City, Michigan, where I offer both in-person and online sessions for adults who resonate with my approach and are ready for real change.
🌿 Who I Work With
I work with sensitive, thoughtful adults - many of them women - who have carried too much for too long.
They are the caregivers, the deep thinkers, the ones who keep going even when they’re running on empty.
On the outside, they look strong and capable.
Inside, they often feel anxious, lonely, overthinking, exhausted, or emotionally disconnected.
They struggle to rest, to stop analyzing, to feel present in their bodies. They long for peace, for love that feels safe, for a sense of belonging - yet they often feel tired, unseen, or empty inside.
Many come to therapy when they’ve realized that the strategies that once kept them safe - perfectionism, control, people-pleasing, staying busy - are no longer working.
They’re ready to heal from survival and begin living with more presence, ease, and truth.
💔 What I Help Heal
• Childhood and attachment trauma – emotional neglect, absent or critical parents, feeling “not enough”, or “too much”.
• Relationship and intimacy struggles – anxious or avoidant attachment, fear of rejection, people-pleasing, or self-abandonment.
• Anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout – difficulty resting, overthinking, constant alertness, emotional exhaustion.
• Sleep difficulties – when your mind doesn’t know how to turn off because your body still feels unsafe.
• Emptiness and disconnection – feeling lost, numb, or detached from your emotions, body, or purpose.
• Searching for love and belonging – repeating painful relationship patterns or attracting unavailable partners.
• Identity and life transitions – divorce, immigration, motherhood, loss, or rebuilding after major change.
• Hypersensitivity and emotional overwhelm – learning to see sensitivity as a gift, not a flaw.
My work also supports therapists, empaths, and caregivers who need a safe place to release the weight of holding others and reconnect with themselves.
🌸 How I Work
My approach is gentle but deep, integrating the wisdom of the body with the clarity of the mind.
I combine Compassionate Inquiry (Dr. Gabor Maté), mindfulness, somatic awareness, and relational therapy to guide clients from understanding why they feel the way they do to actually feeling safe inside themselves.
Together we:
• Slow down and listen to what the body remembers.
• Explore the emotional roots of anxiety, exhaustion, and emptiness.
• Learn to regulate the nervous system and create new emotional responses.
• Rebuild trust, safety, and connection in relationships.
• Practice boundaries, rest, and self-compassion.
Therapy with me is not about fixing or labeling yourself.
It’s a collaborative process of awareness, compassion, and truth - helping you meet every part of yourself with understanding instead of shame.
