Unhealed wounds distort reality

Unhealed wounds distort reality

Heal so you can hear and see what’s being said and shown without the filter of your wounds.

Because the truth is, unhealed wounds distort reality.

They make us hear “I need space” as “You’re not lovable.”

They make us see silence as rejection.

They make us interpret boundaries as abandonment.

They make us believe conflict means we’re unsafe, unloved, or that we’ve done something wrong.

We begin to live in survival mode even in safe spaces.

We brace for impact even in calm moments.

We look for betrayal, dismissal, criticism, or withdrawal in the smallest gestures, because our nervous system has been conditioned to expect what hurt us before.

But what if you could learn to see what is actually in front of you, not just what your wounds fear?

What if you could hear someone’s “No” without spiraling into shame?

What if you could receive quiet moments without assuming you’ve done something wrong?

What if you could let others have their feelings without making them mean you are unworthy or too much?

This is the gift of healing:

It’s not about becoming unbothered or perfect.

It’s about learning to pause before reacting, to check in with your body, to notice, “Is this an old story replaying, or is this what’s truly happening now?”

It’s about reclaiming your power to see clearly and respond consciously, rather than letting old pain decide how you live and love.

You deserve relationships where you can stay rooted in the present, not stuck in your past.

You deserve to know that you are safe, worthy, and enough, even when things are messy.

You deserve to live without the constant fear that history will repeat itself.

Healing is the path back to your clear seeing, open hearing, and present living.

Take your time. It’s worth it.

Reflection:

Where do you notice yourself reacting from old wounds rather than what is actually happening?

What would it feel like to pause, breathe, and check in with what’s true before you respond?

With presence and care,🤍
